Springville World Folkfest
Utah's only international folk dance festival celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2026. Hundreds of performers from around the world take the stage at Spring Acres Arts Park in Springville, July 30–August 1, with gates at 5:30 PM and the main show at 7:30 PM.
For one week each summer, Springville becomes a crossroads of the world. The World Folkfest — Utah's only international folk dance festival and one of the largest of its kind in the western United States — brings hundreds of performers from countries around the globe to Spring Acres Arts Park. In 2026 it marks a milestone: its 40th anniversary, running since 1986. Main performances land July 30 through August 1, with an expanded week of activities around them.
What Makes It Special
These aren't tribute acts — they're cultural preservation in motion. Performers arrive with the "living history" of their traditions: authentic costumes, traditional instruments, and choreography passed down through generations, from countries as varied as Estonia, Romania, South Korea, and Mexico. The result is a full-throttle sensory evening of percussive footwork, rhythmic storytelling, and live traditional bands.
The heart of the festival is its host-family program: rather than putting performers up in hotels, Springville residents open their own homes, sharing meals and forming friendships that often last decades. It's a grassroots kind of hospitality that gives the whole event its warmth.
Planning Your Evening
- Gates open at 5:30 PM; the main show begins at 7:30 PM. Come early — the pre-show turns the park into a global village, with international food trucks so you can "taste the world," plus new Meet & Greet experiences where you can see the costumes up close and even dance alongside performers.
- For kids, there are scavenger hunts and learning tents built to spark curiosity about the world.
- Seating is outdoor amphitheater-style — bring a blanket or lawn chairs for the most comfortable experience.
- Tickets run approximately $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and $7 for kids, available at the gate or online. Confirm current pricing before you go.
In a valley full of summer festivals, this one stands apart — a reminder that while traditions differ, the spirit of celebration is a language everyone speaks. For the rest of the summer's lineup, see the Provo events calendar. Current schedule and tickets are on the World Folkfest site.
