For years, the free fireworks show at Thanksgiving Point's Electric Park has been a reliable, low-key Fourth of July option for families in the north end of the valley. In 2026, it's become something bigger: with personal fireworks banned across most of Utah Valley, this is one of the shows the whole region is being pointed toward.
The Basics
The Thanksgiving Point Freedom Celebration, presented by Lehi City, takes place Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Electric Park, 2650 N Ashton Boulevard in Lehi. Gates open at 4 p.m. and the fireworks begin at 10 p.m. Admission is free — you just bring your own blankets and camp chairs.
Before the show, the park fills in with food trucks, vendors, and festival activities, so there's plenty to do through the early evening while you hold your spot. The fireworks are synchronized to a soundtrack on FM100.3, so bring a radio or pull it up on your phone for the full effect.
One important note: personal fireworks and personal grills are not allowed at Electric Park. This is a professional show, and given this year's fire conditions, the no-personal-fireworks rule is being taken seriously.
Why It Matters More This Year
Under Governor Cox's June 25 emergency order and the citywide bans that followed, personal fireworks are off the table in most of Utah County this Fourth of July — including Lehi and American Fork. Rather than leave residents without a celebration, both cities are officially directing people to the Electric Park show. That makes this free display a natural gathering point for the north valley: Lehi, American Fork, Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, and the surrounding communities where backyard fireworks aren't an option this year.

Planning Your Evening
A few practical tips:
- Arrive in the early evening. With a 4 p.m. gate and a 10 p.m. show, showing up around dinnertime gives you room to park, stake out a spot, and grab food before the crowd peaks.
- Pack for after dark. Utah Valley evenings cool down after sunset, so bring layers along with your blankets and chairs.
- Bring cash. Food trucks and vendors move faster with it.
- Tune to FM100.3 for the synchronized soundtrack.
- Leave the fireworks and grill at home — neither is permitted on-site.
If you're weighing your options for the night, the valley's other marquee show is Stadium of Fire at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, and Pleasant Grove hosts its own free show at Discovery Park.
