For a landlocked valley, Utah Valley does Asian food remarkably well — and the scene has exploded outward from Provo and Orem in the last few years. Sushi bars, ramen specialists, pho shops, Thai kitchens, Korean BBQ, and grill-your-own Japanese BBQ have opened across Lehi, American Fork, Saratoga Springs, Spanish Fork, and Vineyard, often to serve the booming west-side population that didn't want to drive to Provo anymore.
This is the valley-wide guide, organized by cuisine: sushi and Japanese first (the deepest category), then ramen and noodles, Thai and Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese and pan-Asian. (For Provo and Orem specifically, we have dedicated deep-dives on sushi, Chinese & Asian, Korean, Thai, and ramen & noodles.)
Sushi & Japanese
The valley's deepest Asian category, from creative rolls to grill-your-own.
1. Five Sushi Brothers
Sushi · $$ · Provo & Orem
The valley's crowd-pleaser. Five Sushi Brothers built a loyal following on generous, creative rolls at fair prices, and it's the default recommendation for sushi in the central valley. Reliable, approachable, and consistently good.
Best for: Creative rolls and a dependable sushi night.
2. Tsunami
Sushi & Pan-Asian · $$$ · Lehi (Traverse Mountain)
A Utah sushi staple with a sleek Traverse Mountain location, Tsunami does creative rolls, ramen, and a broad pan-Asian menu in a polished setting. The most established sit-down sushi option in Lehi.
Best for: A north-valley sit-down sushi-and-more dinner.
3. Tabeyo & Kabuto
Sushi · $$ · Spanish Fork

5. Umami Japanese Barbeque
Japanese BBQ (Yakiniku) · $$$ · Vineyard
Vineyard's standout and a different Japanese experience entirely. Umami does yakiniku-style cook-your-own BBQ — you grill premium meats at the table — in the Geneva district next to the Megaplex. Interactive, fun for groups, and the marquee Vineyard restaurant.

Ramen & noodles
The fastest-growing category — dedicated ramen specialists now dot the valley.
7. Haku Ramen House
Ramen · $$ · American Fork / Lehi
A north-valley ramen specialist that consistently tops "best Japanese" lists for the area — real, rich bowls rather than an afterthought on a sushi menu. The go-to for ramen on the north end.
Best for: A serious bowl of ramen up north.
8. JINYA Ramen Bar
Ramen · $$ · Lehi
The Lehi outpost of the well-known ramen chain — slow-simmered tonkotsu broth and customizable bowls in a modern room. A dependable, polished ramen option.
Best for: Customizable tonkotsu in a sleek setting.
9. Hakata Ramen

A local favorite for authentic, spicy Hakata-style ramen — clean, friendly, and the real deal for a rich tonkotsu bowl.

Best for: Authentic curries and pad Thai up north.
11. Thai Simple Dish

Flies under the radar but delivers some of the best Thai food in the valley — fresh, well-spiced, and consistent. A local's pick in Provo.
Best for: Under-the-radar authentic Thai in Provo.
12. Viet Deli
Vietnamese · $$ · Saratoga Springs
A west-side local favorite for pho (ribeye and beef-meatball options) and banh mi with rotisserie chicken and pork. Wash it down with a Thai tea. Part of a wave of new pho spots serving the booming west valley.
Best for: Pho and banh mi on the west side.
13. Pho 888 & Cafe Trang
Vietnamese · $$ · Lehi / American Fork
Pho 888 (Lehi) is a go-to for a great bowl of pho, and Cafe Trang Bistro (American Fork) earns praise for quick, fresh, healthy Vietnamese — noodle bowls, curry, banh mi. Two solid north-valley Vietnamese picks.
Best for: Quick, fresh Vietnamese in the north valley.
Korean
14. K-Town Korean BBQ & Seoul Garden
Korean BBQ · $$$ · Provo / Orem
The central valley's tabletop Korean BBQ spots — grill marinated meats at your table, with the full banchan spread. A fun, interactive group meal.
Best for: Tabletop Korean BBQ with a group.
15. Cup Bop
Fast-Casual Korean · $ · Valley-wide
A Utah success story — Cup Bop started at a Provo farmers market and grew into a phenomenon with its fast, saucy Korean BBQ bowls and a spice-level challenge. Cheap, fast, and addictive.
Best for: A fast, cheap Korean bowl on the go.
16. Goong
Korean · $$ · Spanish Fork
The south valley's Korean option, bringing bibimbap, BBQ, and Korean comfort food to Spanish Fork. A welcome addition to a town better known for Mexican and burgers.
Best for: Korean comfort food on the south end.
Chinese & pan-Asian

Best for: Chinese classics done well in the north valley.
18. Zao Asian Cafe
Fast-Casual Pan-Asian · $ · Spanish Fork, Saratoga Springs & valley-wide
The build-your-own pan-Asian fast-casual concept — stir-fries, bowls, and wraps, fast and customizable, with locations across the valley. The easy everyday pick when the group can't agree.
Best for: A quick, customizable pan-Asian bowl anywhere in the valley.
Tips for Asian food in Utah Valley
- Sushi is deepest; ramen is fastest-growing. Start with Five Sushi Brothers or Tsunami for rolls, and seek out the dedicated ramen specialists (Haku, JINYA, Hakata) over sushi-menu ramen.
- The west side has caught up. Saratoga Springs and Vineyard have added pho, sushi, and Japanese BBQ in just the last couple of years.
- Grill-your-own is having a moment. Umami (Japanese BBQ) and the Korean BBQ spots are great for a group that wants dinner-as-activity.
- Go deeper by cuisine. For Provo/Orem specifics, see our dedicated sushi, Chinese, Korean, Thai, and ramen guides.
