Fort Herriman Towne Days is Herriman's own summer festival, and the city calls it the largest city event of the year. It spreads across the second half of June, starting with a morning run and a car show and building to three days at W&M Butterfield Park: a carnival that fills the park's upper level, a Saturday parade, live music, and night shows on both Friday and Saturday. For Utah Valley families it is one of the closest big celebrations over the county line, about three-quarters of an hour from Provo.
The shape of the week
The 2026 festival, as Herriman published it, ran from June 19 to 27 in two parts. The first week held the warm-up events: the Herriman Yeti Run at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, at Butterfield Park, with a 5K run, a 5K ruck and a one-mile fun run, presented by Lone Peak Hospital's Herriman Emergency Center; and the car show at J. Lynn Crane Park on June 24, where a vendor market joined it from 4 to 8 p.m.
The main festival then took Butterfield Park from Thursday, June 25, to Saturday, June 27.
The carnival
The carnival runs all three days, and for 2026 the city expanded it to fill the entire upper level of the park. Its hours were 5 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, 4 to 11 p.m. on Friday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday. Ride passes were sold in advance at Herriman City Hall and at the carnival's ticket kiosk.
Around it, the 2026 guide listed a family fun zone, touch-a-truck, an interactive reptile experience, a Herriman police K9 demonstration, bracelet making for the nation's 250th anniversary, and a local talent show called Herriman Live.
Friday: music and a drone show
Friday night centered on the park's large stage, with the Fox Brothers Band playing from 6 to 7:20 p.m. At 10 p.m. the city put on a drone show for America's 250th anniversary, a quarter-hour of lights over Butterfield Park.
Saturday: the parade, the headliner and the fireworks
Saturday is the full day. The parade started at 10 a.m. in 2026, and the carnival opened at 11. The afternoon brought a wiffle ball tournament, a trick-dog show, and a DJ dance party on the big stage through the afternoon and evening. The evening stage lineup was the Trevor Ram Band at 4, a showcase of award-winning entries from the city's America 250 art and voices contest at 6, and the headliner, Kaleb Austin, from 8 to 9:30, whom Herriman billed as a Utah native and "TikTok Country Artist of the Year."
At 10 p.m. the fireworks went up, a quarter-hour show set to music across the decades.
A drone show and fireworks, both
Herriman put on both in 2026, drones on Friday and fireworks on Saturday, as Draper did. Across the valley the balance has been shifting toward drones, and Salt Lake City has used drone shows in place of holiday fireworks since its council declined to fund fireworks in 2022. If one or the other is the reason you are going, check the year's schedule, since the lineup is the city's call each year.
Getting there from Utah County
OpenStreetMap routing puts Butterfield Park, at 6212 West Butterfield Park Way, about 31 miles and 44 minutes from downtown Provo without traffic. Herriman sits in the southwest corner of Salt Lake County, so the drive runs north on I-15 and then west across the south end of the valley.
