Every row here links to a guide on this site. Nothing was added for the tool, and nothing was scraped from an aggregator. That matters for festivals in particular, because the aggregators are where the wrong dates come from: Orchard Days and Strawberry Days get listed under last year's weekend every spring, and a rodeo that moved a week is still a rodeo that moved. When a city has published next year's dates we show them; when it has not, we show the usual window and say so.
Tap more than one. "Free" means no admission; rodeos and carnivals inside a free festival are usually ticketed, and the guide says which.
How the calendar decides
Each row carries the last instance we verified, either from the guide it links to or from the dated entry on our events calendar. When that instance has passed and the city has not yet announced the next one, the tool moves it forward one year and marks it expected; the small-city celebrations in particular sit on the same week every year and the guides explain the pattern. When a city has published next year's dates — Lehi Round-Up, Steel Days, Fiesta Days, the county fair, Golden Onion Days and the storytelling festival have — the row shows those instead. Nothing here is a live feed; a festival that moves after we checked will be wrong until the guide is updated, which is why every row links to the guide and the guide links to the city.
"This weekend" reads your device's date and keeps anything whose window touches the coming Saturday or Sunday (or today, if it is already the weekend). Month filters on the months a celebration normally occupies, not on this year's exact dates, so a festival that straddles July and August answers to both.
