Youth Sports Registration Calendar

The thing parents miss here is not the season. It is the sign-up window, and it closes months before the first game.

Utah Valley's registration calendar runs months ahead of its seasons, and that is the whole problem. Baseball closes in late winter for a season that starts in May. Tackle football signs up in spring for games in September. A family that moves here in July and starts looking for a fall team has already missed two of the four big sports. This calendar exists to show you what is open, what is closing, and what you should be watching for next.

How to read these windows

Every date here is a last-posted window, not a prediction. Cities republish their registration pages each year and the dates move. We do not roll last season's dates forward and present them as this season's, because our own Jr. Jazz guide records reading Orem's page in early September 2026 with a play-begins date still pointing at the previous January. A calendar that quietly assumes the dates repeat is worse than no calendar, because it looks authoritative while being wrong. What last year's window is genuinely good for is telling you which month to start watching, and that is how this tool is meant to be used.

Rows come in two precisions and the tool labels which. A posted row means our coverage recorded a specific open or close date for a named city program — Provo's 2 September to 30 October, Orem's 11 August to 2 November, American Fork's baseball window of 12 January to 25 February. A month-band row means the sport registers in a known stretch of the year across the county without a city-specific date we can stand behind. Soccer's fall rec registration running May to early August is a band; Provo's Jr. Jazz window is a date. Mixing the two silently would be the easy thing and the wrong one.

The valley's four traps, in calendar order. February is baseball's — the season most families think of as summer baseball has a deadline in late winter, and a family that starts looking in April finds t-ball open and the draft leagues full. May is soccer's: a family that has not decided by mid-May whether a child will try out for club has, in practice, decided. Spring is tackle football's, months before an autumn season. And late summer is basketball's, with Orem opening on 11 August and Provo on 2 September for a season that does not start until winter.

Fees are context, not quotes. Where our guides recorded a posted fee we carry it with the resident and non-resident split, because that gap is real and runs about ten dollars in most cities. Orem's is worth understanding as an example: its grades 3-6 fee breaks down as a program charge plus a school-district fee for the use of district gyms, which is why it looks higher than a neighboring city's for the same sport. None of these are prices this site stands behind — they are what was posted when the guide was written.

What this tool cannot do is register you. It has no live feed from any city, and there is no county-wide system to read; nine recreation departments each run their own. Where we could confirm a city's recreation page it is linked on the card. Where we could not, the card says so rather than guessing at a URL — several city sites either sit behind a challenge that refuses automated requests or have moved their recreation pages since our guides were written.

The guides behind this calendar carry the parts a date cannot: Jr. Jazz city by city including how the draft works, baseball and softball and the February trap, soccer's three tiers, youth football with the weight limits and the heat problem, and gymnastics, tumbling and cheer, which enrolls rolling and so has no window to miss. The families hub holds the rest.

Windows and fees are drawn from this site's own youth-sports guides, each of which states its own vintage. City recreation pages were probed on 3 September 2026. If a window has moved, tell us and we will correct it.
