Orem City compiles residents' Halloween displays into a single optimized driving route with a published address list. A free, self-paced alternative to trick-or-treating. The 2026 map is not yet published.

The Tour of Frights is Orem City's own compilation of residents' Halloween displays, arranged into a single driving route. It is unusual among city Halloween offerings because it is genuinely first-party: households submit their property to the city, the city orders the addresses for drive time and publishes the list with a map link against each one.

Why it is worth knowing about

It solves a specific problem. Elaborate home Halloween displays are scattered and unfindable unless you already know where they are, and the good ones are frequently not on the streets a visitor would think to drive. The city's list closes that gap.

It is also free, self-paced, and viewable from a car — which makes it one of the few Halloween activities in the valley that works in bad weather, works for a child who is too young to walk a route, and works for anyone who would rather not queue.

Orem has been ranked among the better places in the country to trick-or-treat, and the city itself attributes that to autumn weather, safe streets and generous residents. The displays are the part those rankings miss.

The date, and a caveat

Orem has not published the 2026 route. The address list currently on the city's page is the most recent published route, and the page itself notes that the new map is still to come — so treat the existing addresses as an indication of where displays cluster rather than as this year's route.

Displays generally go up through the second half of October and come down shortly after Halloween. Residents wanting to be included submit through the city's form.
