The 41 restaurant rows below were HARDCODED INSIDE the tool template until v407 and carried no per-row verifiedOn and no staleness logic at all -- grep -c verifiedOn on the old template returned 0. The page claimed one blanket 'as of May 2026' for all 41. They were migrated here unchanged and dated 2026-05-01, which is the only date this site has ever claimed for them; no fresher date was invented to keep them live. On the Provo clock at v407 that is 125 days, so every one of them is past the 120-day line and none of them gets a live verdict. That is the rule working, not the rule failing. Re-verifying them is a research job, not a build.
The two modes beside this one do not depend on a clock and are answered from this site's own published coverage. They are the useful part of this page until the hours are re-checked.

The 24-hour diners, several Chinese and Thai places along State Street, the hotel restaurants and a few chains have opened year after year. Everything locally owned closes. Our own guide says plainly not to plan on any specific restaurant without a phone call in the week before.
There is no grocery store open in Utah County on Christmas Day. Not one chain. The practical deadline is Christmas Eve afternoon, and the last calm shopping window is usually the morning of the 23rd.
Walgreens and CVS keep some stores open on shortened hours, with the counter open for a shorter window still or not at all. Which stores is decided regionally and posted a week or two out. Pharmacies inside grocery stores close with them.

Why only one category has a clock
Only the restaurants category carries per-venue opening times, because that is the only category this site has ever published hours for. The other six are answered as PATTERNS -- what opens on a Sunday, what opens on a holiday -- sourced to our own published coverage and cited per row. Inventing a clock for a pharmacy counter we have never checked would have made the tool look more capable and be less true.
The valley-wide categories the plan asked for — groceries, pharmacies, fuel, rec centers, libraries, urgent care — are all here, but they are answered as patterns rather than as opening times, and each one cites the page on this site it came from. The pattern is the more useful answer anyway. Nobody wants to know that a specific Smith's shuts at eleven; they want to know whether there is a grocery store open on Christmas morning in Utah County, and there is not, and no amount of per-store hours would have told you that as quickly.
Where the hours live, and why they expire
This site's business directory carries durable facts only. Opening hours are banned from it on purpose, because a stale hour is worse than no hour: it sends someone across the valley to a locked door and it looks authoritative while it does it. Hours live in exactly one file, each row carrying the date it was last checked, and a row older than 120 days stops being allowed to answer the question.
That expiry is applied when the site is built, on the Provo clock, not in your browser. A stale row is not deleted from this page — it is listed with its date so you can go and confirm it yourself — but it is not given a verdict, because the verdict is the part that can be wrong.
