The student calendar

Provo runs on two academic calendars that do not line up. UVU starts a fortnight before BYU, breaks in different weeks and finishes on a different day — which is why the city empties twice each December instead of once. Both are here, in full, alongside the events students actually plan around.

Where these dates come from

Every date on this page was read off the university's own published calendar and had its printed weekday recomputed against the date before it was published here. BYU's dates come from byu.edu; UVU's come from its own dates and deadlines pages, including the future-years calendar UVU publishes several years ahead.

Two cautions worth stating plainly. UVU's own wording on its future calendar is that those are major timeframes only, subject to change with cabinet approval — so a 2028 date is a plan, not a promise. And BYU's dates here run to the end of 2026 only; BYU publishes later years on a host this site cannot currently read, and the third-party calendar sites that do republish them disagree with BYU's own printed grid, so nothing beyond 2026 is asserted for BYU rather than guessed at.

The farthest-future date on this calendar is December 8, 2028. Most local calendars stop caring past thirty days; this one is built to be planned against.
