Joaquin Park is a pocket park, under an acre and opened in 2009, in the middle of Joaquin, the neighborhood between downtown and BYU that has housed Provo's students for generations. It is small, but it packs in what a neighborhood party needs.

Using the park
The reservable pavilion has power and lights, with grills beside it, restrooms, a playground and a short path. There are no sports fields or courts and no off-street parking, so plan to walk or bike in, as much of Joaquin does. For a bigger lawn and tennis courts, Kiwanis Park is up the hill on the east bench.
History on every block
The blocks around the park are some of Provo's oldest. Within about a quarter mile stand several houses on the National Register of Historic Places, among them the John R. Twelves House, the Dr. Samuel H. Allen House and Carriage House, and the Harvey H. Cluff House, and the Provo City Library, in the restored Brigham Young Academy building on University Avenue, is about a third of a mile away.
