Callie's is the Orem diner that opens before almost anything else in the valley, and that single fact is why our sports coverage reaches for it: when a game kicks off at seven in the morning Mountain Time, the field of places that will feed you narrows to about one.
Where it is
On north State Street in Orem, a few blocks up from the Provo line. Its own signage carries a longer name than the one most listings use -- the cafe and the sports bar are billed together.

What we know about it
The licensing point our sports guide makes is worth repeating here, because it explains the geography rather than the taste. A room where you can sit and drink through a whole game is a specific and hard-won license class in Utah, which is why Provo has almost none and why the valley's sports bars cluster outside it. Callie's is one of the handful, and it is in Orem.
What it actually is, most of the day, is an old-fashioned diner: hash browns, omelettes, chicken-fried steak, burgers, fish and chips, portions on the generous side of large. Listings put it in business since 1999, which in a valley that rebuilds its restaurant stock every few years makes it close to a fixture. The bar side is the evening half.
One caveat our own writing already carries: Sunday is a short day here, running mornings and ending well before an afternoon game does. For a Sunday kickoff this is the breakfast answer, not the game-watching answer. Ask the restaurant before planning around it.
