Taco Paraiso
Mexican · Provo · 279 E 300 S
Mexican cooking east of downtown Provo, and the entry where this directory found an error in its own address before it found anything else. Giode ruled on 2026-09-15 that the page should be written with both the correction and the unresolved closure question on it.
Where it is
At 279 East 300 South. This site previously printed 300 **North**, which is a different street and most of a mile from the real one. Every source we can check, including the restaurant's own ordering page, gives 300 South, and the correction has been made in the guide and in the directory data.
Provo addresses are grid references rather than house numbers in the usual sense: they count outward from the origin at Center Street and University Avenue, one hundred to a block. Our guide to how Utah addresses actually work explains why the same number means a different place in the next city over.
What we know about it
Start with the correction, because it is ours and because it is the most actionable thing on this page. For some time our Mexican food guide gave this restaurant's address with the wrong cardinal direction — 300 North rather than 300 South. In Provo's grid a single letter of that kind does not produce a near miss; it produces a different part of town. Anyone who followed our guide to this restaurant was sent to the wrong place, and that is worth stating plainly rather than fixing quietly.
The address is now right in both the guide and the directory row behind it, and the directory's provenance rule was followed in making the change: the article was corrected first, and the data row reads from the article, rather than the data being edited against an external listing.
**On whether it is trading, we do not know.** Two separate platforms mark the restaurant closed. There is no primary source that confirms or contradicts them, and as with the other unresolved entries here, the remaining honest steps are a phone call or a visit rather than more searching.
So this entry does not tell you it is open and does not tell you it is closed. What it tells you is that if you go looking, go looking at 300 South, and call before you drive.
There is a wider point in this one that applies to the whole directory. The venues in this collection that turned out to have moved or to be showing closure signals are, with striking consistency, the ones our coverage was oldest on. Thin, old coverage does not just mean we have written little; it correlates with the places most likely to have changed since we wrote it. That is the argument for a directory that records what it does not know, rather than one that lists everything with equal confidence.
Everything we have written about it
This is every page on Provo.com that names Taco Paraiso, most substantial first. The directory exists to route you into the writing rather than to replace it.
The durable facts, and the ones we refuse to carry
- Name: Taco Paraiso
- Address: 279 E 300 S, Provo, Utah
- Cuisine: Mexican
- Where we read the address: our own page, not a third-party listing
- How we know the city: the only pages naming it are scoped to a single city in their own titles
We do not publish opening hours, prices, phone numbers or ratings for any venue in this directory. Those are the facts that go stale, and a directory carrying them is wrong within a season while still looking authoritative. For hours, ask the restaurant.
