TRUreligion Pancake & Steakhouse is Orem's big-plate brunch destination -- pancake flights, biscuit dishes, fresh-squeezed orange juice, with a steakhouse side -- in an Art Deco dining room at Midtown 360 on State Street.

Where it is

At 360 South State Street in Orem, Suite 158, inside the Midtown 360 development that also houses Yummy's and Tai Lai Shun. Not at 40 North State, and not in Lindon, both of which appear in older listings.

Orem runs its own address grid from its own origin point, and it does not line up with Provo's — the same number is a different place in each city. Our guide to how Utah addresses actually work covers why.

What we know about it

Our Orem restaurant guide calls it an Orem institution and is clear about which half of the name to come for: the steakhouse side at dinner is solid, but brunch is where it shines, and a weekend wait is normal. Our valley-wide brunch guide files it under big sweet plates -- its shorthand is patio weather means Slackwater, big sweet plates mean TRUreligion -- and our breakfast guide lists it among the Orem sit-down options.

The room is the other thing our coverage notices. The Art Deco interior is fitted out with fixtures salvaged from Salt Lake City's old Lamb's Grill, which gives a restaurant in a new mixed-use building a strong link to somewhere much older. Earlier versions of our guides described it as occupying a restored historic building; that has been corrected, and the address with it.

The address matters because it moved in our own pages before it moved in reality. Our Orem guide once printed 40 North State Street and our Pleasant Grove and Lindon guide placed it in Lindon; the restaurant's own site puts it at 360 South State Street, Suite 158, and this entry follows the operator. Our Pleasant Grove guide keeps the mention as a short drive south rather than a local option. It dates to 2018 and describes a second-chances hiring program as part of what it is, which our coverage notes without making claims about.
