Provost Park is the playground at the center of the Provost neighborhood, beside Provost Elementary; the city lists the park and the school at the same address, 629 South 1000 East. Our neighborhood guide describes Provost as southeast Provo's older residential grid of full-grown trees and family brick homes, with the school in the middle of it, and the park is part of that middle.

What to know before you go
The city lists a playground and a pavilion you can reserve, without power or lights, and no restrooms or off-street lot. The nearest park with restrooms and fields is Harmon Park, about 0.4 miles north, and Maeser Park, with a basketball court, is about half a mile away.
The neighborhood's name
Provost carries the name the whole city grew from: Provo is named for Étienne Provost, the French-Canadian fur trader who worked central Utah in the 1820s. About a quarter mile southwest of the park, the Provo City Cemetery holds many of the town's first settlers, moved there after 1853 from their first graves, as a 1964 Daughters of Utah Pioneers marker records.
