Maeser Park opened in 2001 in the Maeser neighborhood, one of Provo's oldest residential quarters, a grid of bungalows and cottages southeast of downtown named for the 1898 Maeser School, which still stands, now as housing. The park is small, about an acre and a half, but it has the neighborhood's basketball court.

Using the park
Beside the court are a playground, grills, a reservable pavilion with power and lights, restrooms and a drinking fountain. There is no off-street lot, so plan to walk or park on the street. Harmon Park, a few blocks northeast in the same neighborhood, has the ball fields.
Porches and bungalows
Maeser is a neighborhood of front porches and mature trees, with some of the most affordable historic housing in central Provo. Provost Elementary is about half a mile east.
