Provost
Southeast Provo's older residential grid, anchored by its own elementary school
← All Provo neighborhoodsProvost is a working southeast-Provo neighborhood built around Provost Elementary at 629 South 1000 East and Provost Park. It has the qualities that come with age: full-grown trees, a legible grid, homes that were built for families and are still occupied by them, and prices that have historically sat below the bench neighborhoods a mile north.
Where it is
Southeast Provo, generally south of Center Street and east of the central grid, with Provost South below it. The city's neighborhood map is the authority.
The housing
Older single-family homes, brick ranches and bungalows, with duplexes and small apartment buildings mixed in on the busier streets. A genuine mix of owners and renters.
Schools
Provo City School District. Provost Elementary is in the neighborhood at 629 South 1000 East; Provo High is the assigned high school for much of south Provo. Attendance boundaries change and the district is the only authority on them, so confirm any address with Provo City School District before you count on a school.
Getting around
Central and straightforward: University Avenue and 900 East both run north, and I-15 is about five minutes via Center Street or University Avenue. UVX runs along University Avenue.
