Every town in Utah County has a bakery story, and the hours are the part that catches people out: the old-line shops bake in the morning and close by 4, a few of the best open only a couple of afternoons a week, and fewer than half open on Sunday. This page goes town by town from Lehi to Santaquin, storefronts only (home bakers who sell by pickup are left out), with the hours as each shop's Google listing showed them in October 2026 and the facts from each bakery's own site where it has one.

Lehi

Lehi Bakery, 172 West Main Street. Founded in 1969 by Arden Tuckett and bought in 2018 by David and Danielle Doty, by the bakery's own timeline. Its menu calls the square glazed donut its famous item, at $1.39 each, and the case runs to buttermilk bars, fritters, cinnamon and raspberry rolls, brownies by the sheet, cookies and dinner rolls by the dozen. Monday to Saturday 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; closed Sunday. The same hours apply at its three newer shops, in Saratoga Springs, Highland and Spanish Fork.

Dough Lady, 3156 North 1200 West, Suite 101. One of the few bakeries in the north county open on Sunday: Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Tuesday to Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., closed Monday. Its website was still a "coming soon" page in October 2026, so call (385) 335-4677 about the day's case.

Sugar High Confections & Keto, 4161 North Thanksgiving Way, Suite 201. A sweets bakery whose name says it carries keto options, near Thanksgiving Point. Short hours: Wednesday to Friday 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

American Fork and Highland

Avenue Bakery, 297 West Main Street, American Fork. A family-owned, full-scratch bakery, in its own words: donuts, pastries, breads, muffin tops, cakes and pies all made in house, with gluten-free options and custom cakes. It keeps the longest weekday hours of any traditional bakery on this list, 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, so it works after work. Closed Sunday.

Gourmandise, 215 East State Street, American Fork. A café open Monday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 10, and Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., one of the north county's Sunday options.

Lehi Bakery Highland, 4821 West Canal Boulevard, Highland. The Lehi Bakery case, same hours, for the Highland and Alpine side.

Pleasant Grove and Lindon

Grapefruit & Thyme, 145 South Pleasant Grove Boulevard, Suite B. Founder Amilia started the business in March 2019 for wedding cakes and dessert bars, then, when the 2020 pandemic emptied her wedding calendar, switched to sweet and savory pies. It posts a monthly menu for pickup in Pleasant Grove and at a second spot in Salt Lake City's Sugar House. Tuesday to Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; closed Sunday and Monday.

Village Baker, 1865 South Pleasant Grove Boulevard, Suite G. A bakery-café that Google lists as a sandwich shop and restaurant. Monday to Thursday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday to 9; closed Sunday. There are also Village Bakers in Orem and Saratoga Springs.

Eliane French Bakery, 139 South State Street, #7, Lindon. A French bakery with unusual hours: Tuesday to Saturday 3 to 7 p.m. only. Plan an afternoon stop, not a breakfast one.

Saratoga Springs

Lehi Bakery Saratoga Springs, 119 Crossroads Boulevard, Unit A. The Lehi Bakery case on the west side of the lake, Monday to Saturday 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Village Baker Saratoga Springs, 952 North Exchange Drive. The same bakery-café as Pleasant Grove's, open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and until 9 on Friday and Saturday; closed Sunday.

Orem

The short version for Orem, all from Google listings in October 2026:

Tous les Jours, 380 East University Parkway: a Korean bakery-café chain's Orem store, open daily 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., Sunday included.
Memo's Bakery & Café, 39 West Center Street: open from 5 a.m. every day, until 9 p.m. (8 on Sunday), one of the earliest and longest-open bakeries in the county.
Village Baker, 97 West Center Street: the bakery-café, closed Sunday.
Sunshine Buns, 1086 South State Street: cinnamon rolls from what the company calls a 40-year-old family recipe; Monday to Saturday from 8 a.m.; closed Sunday.
The Chocolate, 212 South State Street: a dessert café on State Street, 11 a.m. to 10 or 11 p.m.; closed Sunday.

Provo

Downtown and north Provo hold the county's densest run of bakeries. In brief, with Google's October 2026 hours:

Provo Bakery, East 100 North: Monday to Saturday 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Shirley's Bakery & Cafe, 1620 North Freedom Boulevard: Monday to Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Bianca's La Petite French Bakery, 90 West Center Street: daily from 8 a.m., and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the downtown bakery open on Sunday.

Ambrosial Bakery, 275-B East 300 South: 100% gluten-free, "baking magic since 2015" by its own line, with a weekly menu on Instagram. Wednesday and Thursday 2 to 8 p.m., Friday 2 to 10 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Springville and Mapleton

Good Hope Bakery, 317 North 2000 West, A-107, Springville. A dedicated gluten-free and nut-free bakery: gluten and nuts have never entered the facility, by its own account, and it bakes large soft cookies and brownies, individually wrapped. It ships every weekday, with free shipping over $100, and the storefront is open Monday to Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed weekends. Our gluten-free guide covers the restaurants.

Art City Sweets and The RagaMuffin, 391 North Main Street, Springville. An ice cream and dessert shop that also bakes, on Main Street. Monday to Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday to 10; closed Sunday.

Mapleton's bakeries are home-based and sell by order, so none are listed here.

Spanish Fork

Abigail's Oven, 421 South 200 East. A sourdough bakery that bakes each loaf in its own Dutch oven, as its site describes. Monday noon to 5 p.m., Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed weekends, so this is a weekday errand.

Lehi Bakery Spanish Fork, 433 East 1000 North, Unit 101. The Lehi Bakery case for the south county, same 6:30-to-4 hours.

Salem, Payson and Santaquin

The Pie Sisters, 78 UT-198, Salem. A pie shop with three days a week: Thursday and Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Segovia's Bakery, 17 South Main Street, Payson. On Payson's Main Street, open Monday to Saturday 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the south county's Sunday bakery.

Rowley's Red Barn, 901 South 300 West, Santaquin. A farm market at the south end of the county that Google lists as a bakery as well, with juice, ice cream and a gift shop. Monday to Saturday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; closed Sunday.

Why do so many Utah Valley bakeries close in the afternoon?

Morning bakeries bake once and sell through. Lehi Bakery and Provo Bakery both close at 4 p.m., and The Kolache Place closes at 1 p.m. The ones open into the evening are mostly bakery-cafés such as Village Baker and Tous les Jours, plus Avenue Bakery, which stays open until 8 p.m. on weekdays.
