Magleby's, the Utah County restaurant known for its parmesan breadsticks and chocolate cake, is down to one open dining room for now: the Springville location on Main Street is temporarily closed for renovations, and Pleasant Grove is open Monday through Saturday. Its Tuesday lunch buffet is $23.

The lunch buffet has two chicken entrées, two fish, shrimp cocktail, a roast beef carving station, ravioli, a rotating potato, three salads and a dessert station with Magleby's chocolate cake. The Springville location also listed a Wednesday lunch buffet before closing for renovations. The monthly prime rib dinner is held at Springville, so check before planning on it.

Banquets: the Grotto
Magleby's books the Grotto at its Springville location for weddings, family gatherings and pre-dance dinners. There's no room fee; you pay per guest by menu, plus service charge and tax. A $300 nonrefundable deposit holds the date, and the full Grotto has room minimums of $2,500 on weekdays and $3,500 Friday-Saturday ($4,000 and $5,000 in December). It seats 80 comfortably, 100 at most, or 20 to 40 for a half room. Kids 4-14 are $15. Call 801-610-4110, and given the renovation, ask about dates. The story
Magleby's dates to 1979. Its website says a retired dentist, David "Doc" Parkinson, and his wife, Lenora, built the original restaurant and its breadsticks and chocolate cake; their son Richard started Magleby's Weddings and Catering in 2008. In 2023, David and Danielle Doty bought Magleby's from the Parkinson family.
