Big Springs Park is the quiet end of the South Fork of Provo Canyon, near the top of South Fork Road. A spring-fed creek runs through the picnic grounds, and the Big Springs Hollow trail starts at the edge of the lawn, which makes this the city's best park for a picnic followed by an easy walk into the trees.

Using the park
Provo City owns and runs it, one of four city parks in the canyon, and its pavilions are booked through the city like any other Provo park. It is smaller and calmer than South Fork Park lower on the same road, so it suits a family or a small group better than a reunion. There are restrooms, grills, power, a fire pit and river access, and wildlife is part of the draw.
The South Fork is a fall-color drive in October, and in winter the Big Springs Hollow trail becomes a snowshoe route.
