Maeser

Historic bungalow blocks south of Center Street, anchored by the old Maeser School

Maeser is one of Provo's oldest residential quarters — a compact grid of bungalows and cottages southeast of downtown, named for the landmark 1898 Maeser School building (preserved today as housing). It's a neighborhood of front porches, mature trees, and some of the most affordable historic housing in central Provo.

Where it is

Southeast of downtown, roughly between University Avenue and 900 East from Center Street down toward 900 South.

The housing

Small early-20th-century bungalows and cottages, a mix of owner-occupied and rental, with lots that are modest by Utah County standards.

Schools

Provo City School District; Provo Peaks Elementary and Timpanogos Elementary serve the central-east area. Confirm boundaries with the district.
