Using the park
The Provo River Trail and direct river access make it a natural stop on a ride, and the reservable pavilion has power and lights, with grills, restrooms and a 55-space lot. North of the park stands number 33 in Provo's series of history markers, on the Orem line, the electric interurban railroad that ran from downtown Salt Lake City through Utah Valley to Payson until 1946.
The Riverbottoms
The neighborhood's name is its geography: this is the Provo River's bottomland, where the river leaves the canyon and spreads across the north end of the valley floor, and the park sits on that river. The Shops at Riverwoods are about half a mile away, and the Cordner–Calder House, on the National Register of Historic Places, a little farther.
