BYU Baseball at Larry H. Miller Field: The 3 p.m. Ballgame, the 2027 Big 12 Home Series, and How to Spend a Spring Afternoon at Miller Park

BYU baseball plays at Larry H. Miller Field, often at 3 p.m. on weekdays. The 2027 Big 12 home series, tickets, the heated field and a first-visit plan.

BYU baseball plays the kind of game you can walk into after class. In 2026, the first home weekday games of the season started at 3 p.m., Saturdays at 1 p.m., and the setting, a canopied ballpark on the north edge of campus, is what BYU itself calls "one of the best settings in collegiate baseball." The ballpark is Larry H. Miller Field, inside the Miller Park complex on the north edge of campus. Here is when to go in 2027, how tickets work and what to expect on a first visit.

The ballpark

Name Larry H. Miller Field at Miller Park
Address 400 E. University Parkway, Provo (per Google)
Opened 2001, as a back-to-back baseball and softball complex

Fences 347 ft (left), 402 ft (center), 343 ft (right)

A few details from BYU's facilities page that explain what you see when you walk in:

When the games are: the spring-afternoon pattern

The 2027 non-conference schedule had not been posted in October 2026, but the 2026 home schedule shows the rhythm BYU uses.

Part of the season (2026) Typical start times at Miller Park
Early March weekdays 3 p.m.
Late March through May, Thursdays and Fridays 6 p.m.
Saturdays all season 1 p.m.
Midweek games (Tuesdays, a Monday) 3 p.m., 5 p.m. or 6 p.m.

There were exceptions: a 1 p.m. Thursday game against No. 23 Arizona State in April, for one. The 3 p.m. weekday games are the "spring afternoon" version of BYU baseball, and they cluster in March. By the time the evenings warm up, most Thursday and Friday games move to 6 p.m.

BYU played 22 home games in 2026. Conference play is the backbone, and in the Big 12 BYU's series run Thursday to Saturday, not the Friday-to-Sunday pattern most of the league uses, according to the conference schedule announcement.

The 2027 home series

The Big 12 announced BYU's 2027 conference schedule on August 20, 2026: 30 conference games, 15 at Miller Park. Conference play runs March 18 to May 22, and the Big 12 Tournament returns to Surprise Stadium in Arizona May 25 to 29.

Dates (2027) Opponent at Miller Park
Thu.-Sat., Mar. 18-20 Texas Tech
Thu.-Sat., Apr. 8-10 Houston
Thu.-Sat., Apr. 22-24 West Virginia
Thu.-Sat., May 6-8 Baylor
Thu.-Sat., May 13-15 Arizona

BYU's road series are at Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Utah, TCU and Arizona State. The series with the most national weight is West Virginia, which BYU notes reached the 2026 College World Series and finished the year ranked No. 4. Utah fans should note that the 2027 Big 12 series with the Utes is in Salt Lake City (April 15 to 17); in 2026 the teams split four meetings.

Our guide to BYU's in-state games tracks the non-conference matchups with Utah schools once they are announced. In 2026 those included Utah Tech twice and UVU, all at Miller Park.

Where the program is

BYU finished 2026 28-28 overall and 14-16 in the Big 12, eighth in the league after being picked 13th in the preseason poll, and reached the Big 12 Tournament for the second straight year, according to BYU Athletics. It swept four conference series, including Oklahoma State and Cincinnati, both NCAA Tournament teams. In the tournament opener, senior Easton Jones hit a walk-off three-run home run to end an 18-8 win over Texas Tech in seven innings.

At home, it was a harder year: BYU went 9-13 at Miller Park and 16-14 on the road.

The head coach is Trent Pratt, named to the job on June 8, 2022, after ten years on the staff. A Tooele native, Pratt was an All-SEC catcher at Auburn and played four seasons in the Philadelphia Phillies organization. His 2025 team won BYU's first Big 12 Tournament game, a 2-0 upset of Arizona State, and set a school record for fielding percentage, according to his BYU biography.

A game you can see this fall

You do not have to wait for March. BYU's annual Blue and White intersquad game is Friday, October 30, 2026, at Miller Park, with the time to be announced, according to BYU Athletics. The fall exhibition schedule ends at UNLV on November 7.

Tickets

Single-game tickets were not on sale in October 2026. BYU's ticket office describes the usual sale: a 10 a.m. presale for Cougar Club members, then a noon public sale, with fans picking their own seats first come, first served.

Season tickets "generally go on sale in February." They are reserved seats only, are not renewable, and sell through a presale ladder by Cougar Club level (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.), then previous season ticket holders (3 p.m.), then a public sale at 10 a.m. the next day.

Who needs a ticket: everyone 2 and older in reserved sections and 6 and older in general admission. General admission is first come, first served.

Where to buy: online at BYU's ticket site, in person at the Marriott Center ticket office, or at the Miller Park ticket booth on game day.

Prices: BYU posts a pricing map on the same page. In October 2026 it still showed 2026 prices, so check it when 2027 tickets open.

Students. The Olympic Sports ROC Pass ($75 for 2026-27) covers baseball, but this year BYU says every ticketed event requires students to claim an individual ticket, with Olympic-sport claims opening at 2 p.m. on game day, or 2 p.m. Friday for a Saturday game. The claim stays open until the student section fills, so a student walking over from class can usually still claim one if there is room. Baseball attendance counts toward football and men's basketball priority. Our ROC Pass guide explains the system.

A first-visit plan

Pick a 3 p.m. weekday game in March if you can get away. It is the quietest version of the ballpark and the most "spring afternoon" of the options. Bring a layer: the 2026 home opener was March 5, early enough that the heated field described above earns its keep.

Or pick a Saturday at 1 p.m. for a family. The game is over by late afternoon.

For the best-known matchup on the 2027 home schedule, circle West Virginia, April 22 to 24.

Parking and the walk. Miller Park sits on University Parkway at the north end of campus, next to the Marriott Center. Campus parking rules apply on weekdays; our BYU campus visitor guide covers visitor parking.

Kids who play. If your child is in a league, a college game is the best possible field trip. Our guide to youth baseball and softball in Utah Valley recommends one game at Miller Park and one at UVU's ballpark in Orem, which our UVU game-day guide covers.

And if you want pro baseball, the Salt Lake Bees play in South Jordan; see our guide to pro sports from Provo.
