BYU & UVU Graduation Application Deadlines 2027

If you're a BYU undergraduate planning to graduate in April 2027, your deadline is Nov. 15, 2026: the last day to apply and pay the $15 graduation fee, according to BYU's catalog. At UVU, Spring 2027 graduates have until Wednesday, March 31, 2027.

BYU's deadlines run about five months ahead of graduation. UVU's run about a month ahead.

Applying at BYU

BYU's Enrollment Services lists the steps:

Pick your graduation date based on when you'll finish your coursework.
Make sure your ecclesiastical endorsement covers that date. Check it in MyMAP. The Honor Code Office says the endorsement must be active on your graduation date for the degree to post, and renewals open 90 days before expiration. Our Honor Code explainer covers the renewal rules.
Complete the online graduation application. Choose your term, confirm the date, enter your name as it should appear on the diploma and confirm the mailing address. Honors students mark the honors thesis option.
Pay the one-time $15 fee, charged to your student account.
Pay any outstanding charges on your account.
Meet with your college advisement center to finish the process, and watch for the confirmation email.

If you've missed the deadline, BYU says to contact your advisement center. BYU's Registrar also notes that students who don't graduate within eight years of first enrolling may need additional work in their major and GE program.

Applying at UVU

UVU's graduation application is online, and you check your degree status in myUVU. UVU's FAQ is blunt on one point: "you must apply for graduation to receive your degree regardless of if you are participating in any ceremonies," and walking "does not guarantee completion or awarding of degrees."

For questions, the Graduation Office is in the Registrar's Office, BA 113, at 801-863-8438. Diplomas are mailed six to eight weeks after your last term ends, and a link to order a digital diploma goes to your myUVU email when the paper one ships.

At UVU's 2026 ceremonies, guests didn't need tickets and parking was free in any legal campus space; the 2027 details hadn't been posted when we checked.

Yes. UVU says you must apply for graduation to receive your degree whether or not you take part in a ceremony, and that walking in the ceremony doesn't guarantee the degree is awarded.

What if my BYU ecclesiastical endorsement expires before graduation?

Renew it. BYU says your endorsement must cover your graduation date, and the Honor Code Office says it must be active on that date for the degree to post. Renewal can start 90 days before it expires.
