The Outlets at Traverse Mountain, at 3700 North Cabelas Blvd. in Lehi, is Utah County's outlet mall: about 60 stores and eateries, from Nike, Coach and Kate Spade to Columbia, The North Face and Levi's. Its holiday season starts with a tree lighting on Saturday, Nov. 21, and Black Friday doors open at 6 a.m.

The tree lighting, Nov. 21
The center bills it as its 15th annual tree lighting, paired with a Gingerbread Festival from 2 to 5 p.m.: face painting, kids' crafts, a gingerbread scavenger hunt and the opening of a gingerbread village. At 5:30 p.m., former Utah Jazz player Thurl Bailey leads carols, and the tree, which the center calls "Utah's Tallest Real Christmas Tree," lights near 6 p.m.
Black Friday, Nov. 27
The center is closed Thanksgiving Day and opens 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Black Friday (see our Thanksgiving in Utah Valley guide for other stores' hours). Its Jingle Bell Jackpot hands a mystery prize envelope to the first 200 shoppers at the booth at 6 a.m., 8 a.m. and 10 a.m.; six envelopes hold a $500 gift card. You must be 18 or older with ID, and vouchers must be redeemed by 1 p.m. that day. No purchase is necessary.
For kids: Santa and the Gingerbread Hunt
Santa visits run Nov. 21 through Dec. 24. From Nov. 21 through Dec. 31, kids can pick up a map at Customer Service in the Grand Lobby and hunt for 12 gingerbread characters hidden around the center; finish the map and bring it back for a prize. Hours
On Saturday, Nov. 7, the directory showed most stores open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with Baan Thai at 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Skechers at 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Individual stores set their own schedules, and holiday hours change through December, so call the center at 801-901-1200 before a long drive. Getting there
