Spanish Fork Hospital: South County's Newest Hospital, Its ER, Births, and the InstaCare Next Door

Spanish Fork Hospital at 765 E Market Place Dr: the Level IV trauma ER and its west-side entrance, women and newborn care, the floor-by-floor map and visiting.

Spanish Fork Hospital is the newest general hospital in Utah County and the one closest to the south end of the valley. Intermountain Health opened it in April 2021 at 765 East Market Place Drive, just off I-15 north of U.S. Highway 6. Its main number is 385-344-5000. Intermountain describes it as a 33-bed hospital whose main areas of focus are women's health and medical and surgical services.

For Springville, Mapleton, Salem, Payson, Santaquin and Spanish Fork itself, this is often the nearest emergency room. This guide covers getting there, which door to use, what is inside each floor, and what the hospital is built to handle. It is information about the facility, not medical advice. In an emergency, call 911.

Getting there and finding the right door

Intermountain's campus map:

The map also marks a caregiver (staff) parking area; it does not show patient lot rules.

The emergency department

Level IV is the fourth and lowest tier on the state's list. For the most serious injuries the county's Level II center is Utah Valley Hospital in Provo; see our Utah Valley Hospital guide. Spanish Fork also lists an intensive care unit (385-344-6221).

What to bring, from Intermountain's emergency page: photo ID, a list or bag of current medications, known allergies, emergency contacts, and any advance directive. If someone may have swallowed something poisonous, bring the container.

Not every urgent problem needs an ER. The InstaCare next door is described below, and urgent care or the ER explains how to decide.

The urgent care on the same campus

The Spanish Fork Clinic InstaCare is at 819 East Market Place Drive, phone 385-344-6600, walk-in with no appointment needed. Google's listing in October 2026 showed it open 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week. Revere Health also runs an urgent care in Spanish Fork at 972 North 600 East, listed at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Our urgent care locations map has the rest of the south county.

What is on each floor

Intermountain's campus map is unusually specific, so here it is, condensed:

Level Hospital departments
L1 Emergency, lab, imaging (MRI, CT, mammography, ultrasound), registration, medical records, physical therapy, pain management, physical medicine and rehab, sports medicine, Canyon Creek Café, gift shop
L2 Surgical services, endoscopy, echo, education rooms, dermatology, ENT, psychiatry and counseling
L3 Women and newborn, lactation, cardiology, women's health clinics, administration
L4 Medical-surgical and ICU patient rooms, infusion therapy

The Spanish Fork Clinic building next door houses the InstaCare, family medicine and orthopedics on its first floor.

Having a baby here

Intermountain says the hospital's maternity unit delivers hundreds of newborns each year, and lists women's health as one of its two main areas of focus. Women and Newborn is on level 3 (385-344-6303), next to the lactation clinic (385-344-5324) and women's health clinics.

The hospital's pages do not list a NICU. Babies who need neonatal intensive care would be cared for or transferred according to their needs; if you have a high-risk pregnancy, ask your provider where they plan for you to deliver. Our guides to having a baby in Utah Valley and finding an OB-GYN or midwife cover the choices.

Surgery and orthopedics

Intermountain lists orthopedics and sports medicine, surgical and non-surgical, among the hospital's specialties, and says its surgical team performs thousands of surgeries a year. Its history page says Spanish Fork was the first Intermountain hospital to install a Mako surgical robot, used for knee and hip replacement. Same-day surgery has its own line (385-344-6131).

Other services

From Intermountain's department list: echocardiogram (801-357-7272), imaging (385-344-5810), lab services (385-344-5852), mammography (801-906-2740), nutrition services, physical therapy and rehabilitation (385-344-5430), and an infusion center run as a service of Utah Valley Hospital (385-344-5670).
