What a Wedding Dress Costs in Utah Valley: Buying, Renting and the Sale Rack, From the Shops' Own Pages (2026)

Published Utah Valley bridal prices: rentals $300 to $700, new gowns mostly under $1,500, sale racks from $200, veils $30 to $599, and what alterations add.

There are three ways to get a wedding dress in Utah Valley: buy new, buy off the sale rack, or rent. A few shops publish their prices, and those prices show how far apart the three are. We read their pages on October 20, 2026. Every figure below is the shop's own, as published that day.

For the shops themselves, modest and temple-ready styles and what to expect at an appointment, read our wedding dress shopping guide. This page is the price list.

Buying new

Shop (city) What it publishes
Affordable Bridal Boutique (Provo) "Most of our dresses are priced under $1500."
GBP Bridal, Gowns by Pamela (Pleasant Grove) Purchased gowns $1,000 to $2,500, with further customizations, a veil and standard alterations included

Most other shops, including Pritchétt Bridal in Orem, A Bridal Center in Provo and Lehi, Frankie Jane Couture Bridal in Orem and The Perfect Dress in American Fork, do not publish gown prices; you learn them at the appointment.

For scale, The Knot's national survey put the average 2024 wedding dress at $2,000, as reported by BYU's Daily Universe. That is a national figure, not a Utah one.

The sale rack

Affordable Bridal Boutique's sale page says it has marked down many dresses to "between $300 and $800," with a few others significantly reduced but still under $1,000. When we checked, the listed sale gowns ran from $200 to $800: one gown originally $1,299 was $200, and another originally $1,725 was $600. Sale stock changes constantly, so a dress listed today may be gone tomorrow.

For secondhand dresses and consignment, see our guide to buying and selling used wedding dresses.

Renting

BYU's Daily Universe has reported more Utah brides renting their dresses instead of buying, and two Utah County rental shops publish their prices.

Shop (city) Rental price Rental period Included
Something Borrowed Bridal Rentals (Orem) Most gowns $300 to $600, all under $1,000 2 weeks Gown only; alterations and dry cleaning not included
GBP Bridal (Pleasant Grove) $550 to $700 5 consecutive days Sleeve choice, alterations and a veil

Something Borrowed says it carries more than 700 gowns in sizes 0 to 32, all designed and bought within the past five years, and lets you wear the rented gown for more than one event, such as bridals and the reception, within the same rental. It takes half the rental total as a non-refundable deposit. The two-week window matters if your bridal photos are shot a week or more before the wedding; our photography prices guide explains why bridals are usually a separate session.

Veils and accessories

Item Shop Price
Veils Sweetheart Bridal (Provo) $99, $139, $149, $599
Veil rental with a gown / alone Something Borrowed $30 / $50
Belt rental with a gown / alone Something Borrowed $15 / $30

GBP Bridal includes a veil in both its rental and purchase prices.

Alterations

This is the line most dress budgets miss, and the one no shop we read publishes. GBP Bridal includes standard alterations in its prices. Something Borrowed does not include them. Sweetheart Bridal does not price alterations on its site; it lists four local seamstresses (in Orem, Provo, Pleasant Grove and southern Utah) and recommends getting quotes from more than one. Adding sleeves to a sleeveless gown is the kind of change to price before you commit to a dress.

Timing

The Perfect Dress says many of its gowns are made to order and take three to four months to arrive, then four to six weeks for alterations. That is four to five and a half months before the wedding for a special-order gown. Rentals and sale dresses skip the wait. Our wedding timeline puts the dress in order with everything else.

How we gathered these prices

These prices also feed our Utah County Wedding Cost Study, which reports the median published price in each category. We read each shop's own website on October 20, 2026, and copied the published figures. We did not request quotes or estimate unpublished prices. A shop appears because its prices are public, not because we rank it. If you run a Utah Valley bridal shop with published prices, or a price has changed, email contact@provo.com.
