Wedding Photography Prices in Utah Valley: Nine Photographers' Published Packages, Side by Side (2026)

What Utah Valley wedding photographers charge, from their own price pages: temple-and-reception packages, hourly rates, bridals, second shooters and the tax line.

Many Utah Valley wedding photographers publish their prices, which makes photography one of the few wedding costs you can compare before a single consultation call. We read the price pages of nine photographers who work Utah County weddings, on October 20, 2026, and set the numbers side by side below. Every figure is the photographer's own, as published that day, and any of them can change.

This page is about the money. For how to judge a portfolio, what to ask in the consultation and who owns the photos afterward, read How to Choose a Wedding Photographer in Utah Valley.

The short answer

On these nine pages, wedding-day coverage started at $600 (two hours) and topped out at $3,800 (a full day plus engagement and bridal sessions). The middle of the market, a package with the temple exit, a bridal session and a reception, sat between roughly $1,200 and $2,800 as published. Bridal sessions sold alone cost $300 to $600.

What moves the number is the same everywhere: hours of coverage, how many separate sessions are bundled in, and whether a second photographer comes along.

Jade Jarvis Photography (Utah) Silver / Gold / Diamond $2,130 / $2,420 / $2,760 6, 8 or 12 hours, bridal photos included
Lone Star Lane Photo (Utah) Unlimited $3,000 Engagements, bridals, up to 8 hours
Lone Star Lane Photo Gold from $1,750 4 hours, bridals, engagement session
James Erick Photography Utah (American Fork) Packages A to J $1,300 to $2,400 4 to 8 hours plus one or two sessions
Sarah Elyse Photos (Salt Lake and Utah counties) Gold from $1,300 Engagements, bridals, 4 hours
Elise Christensen Photography (Utah County) Classic / Full $1,200 / $1,500 Engagement session plus 5 hours or a full day

Tasha Rose's page lists two prices for each package without labeling them. The site says its associate photographers are the more budget-friendly option, so the lower figure is likely the associate rate; confirm it when you inquire. Jenisse Photography, in Utah County, lists its wedding packages as "starting at $2400" and puts the detail on a separate page.

Wedding day only

If you already have engagement photos, or you are skipping bridals, every photographer above sells shorter coverage:

Photographer Coverage Price
Elise Christensen Photography 2 hours, 100 to 150 edited images $600
Lone Star Lane Photo 3 hours from $1,000
Sarah Elyse Photos 4 hours, 300+ photos from $1,000
James Erick Photography Utah 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8 hours $1,000, $1,200, $1,400, $1,600, $1,800
Photography by Tasha Rose Temple plus 2-hour reception from $1,800 or $1,350
MWAR Photography 4 hours, ceremony to exit $1,750

Two hours is enough for a temple exit and family pictures. It is not enough for a temple exit, a luncheon and an evening reception, which is the usual Utah Valley day. Our open-house reception guide explains why the reception tends to run longer than couples expect.

Sessions on their own

Photographer Session Price
MirandaFarnsPhotography (Utah and Salt Lake counties) Bridals, up to 1 hour, 35+ images $300
James Erick Photography Utah Engagement, bridal, or bride and groom, 1 hour $400 each
Photography by Tasha Rose Engagement or bridal $400 or $600 each

Engagement sessions have their own market in Provo, with many student photographers working it. Our engagement photographers guide covers that side, and the photo locations guide covers where to shoot.

The add-ons that change the total

The base package is rarely the final invoice. These are the extras the nine pages price out:

Three ways the Utah Valley day changes the math

The temple exit is the expensive hour. Photographers cannot go inside, so the first portraits happen outside after the sealing, often with dozens of relatives waiting. Packages built for temple weddings price that block in, and Tasha Rose sets a two-hour minimum for temple coverage. Our Provo City Center Temple sealing guide explains where families gather and how long it takes.

The gap between temple and reception may or may not be on the clock. A typical day has a morning sealing, a luncheon, and an evening reception hours later. Tasha Rose says it does not charge for the time between the two. On an hourly package elsewhere, ask whether the photographer leaves and comes back, and whether you pay for the hours in between.

Bridals happen on a different day. Because many couples want portraits without a crowd, bridal sessions are usually shot a week or more before the wedding. That is why so many local packages bundle a bridal session rather than a getting-ready hour.

Off-season and deposits

James Erick Photography Utah takes $100 off any package for a November through February wedding, the only seasonal discount stated on the nine pages. Ask others; a Friday or winter date is easier for a photographer to fill.

Deposits ranged from a fixed retainer to half the package. Tasha Rose asks for a non-refundable $500 retainer with a signed contract, and Lone Star Lane asks for 50% at booking. Before you pay either, read what happens if the date moves. Our vendor contracts guide covers deposits, cancellations and what Utah law does and does not protect.

Where this fits in the budget

If you are building the whole budget, our Utah Valley wedding budget guide puts it next to everything else, and Just Engaged: The First 30 Days explains why photographers are among the first calls to make once the temple date is set.

How we gathered these prices

These prices also feed our Utah County Wedding Cost Study, which reports the median published price in each category. We read each photographer's own pricing page on October 20, 2026, and copied the published figures. We did not ask for quotes, did not average prices across businesses, and did not include figures from directory sites. A photographer appears here because its prices are public, not because we rank it; we have not reviewed anyone's work. If you are a Utah Valley photographer with a public price page and want it included, or a price here has changed, email contact@provo.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a wedding photographer cost in Utah Valley?
Among the nine Utah photographers whose own price pages we read in October 2026, wedding-day packages started at $600 for two hours and ran to $3,800 for full-day coverage with both an engagement and a bridal session. Most packages that include a temple exit, a bridal session and a reception landed between about $1,200 and $2,800 as published.
Do Utah photographers charge sales tax?
Some of them add it to the invoice. Sarah Elyse Photos lists 7.45% sales tax on top of its package prices, and Photography by Tasha Rose lists 8.45% on each session fee. Others do not mention tax on the price page, so ask whether the quote is before or after tax.
What does a temple wedding package usually include?
The packages written for temple weddings typically bundle the temple exit (family, wedding party and couple portraits outside the temple), a bridal or first-look session on another day, an engagement session, and one to two hours of reception coverage. Photography by Tasha Rose, based in Provo, says it does not charge for the time between the temple and the reception.
How much is a bridal session on its own?
As published in October 2026: $300 for up to an hour with 35 or more images at MirandaFarnsPhotography, $400 at James Erick Photography Utah, and $400 or $600 at Photography by Tasha Rose depending on which photographer on the team you book.
How much does extra time or a second shooter cost?
Extra hours ran $100 to $300 an hour on the pages we read, and second shooters $100 an hour at MWAR Photography and $250 an hour at Photography by Tasha Rose. A ring ceremony added to a temple wedding is $200 for an hour at MWAR.
Is it cheaper to book a winter wedding?
At least one local photographer says so in writing: James Erick Photography Utah, based in American Fork, takes $100 off any wedding package from November through February.
How much of a deposit do photographers ask for?
Photography by Tasha Rose asks for a non-refundable $500 retainer and a signed contract to hold a date. Lone Star Lane Photo asks for 50% at booking. Read the cancellation terms before you pay, because a retainer that is non-refundable stays with the photographer if the date moves.
Do these prices include travel to the temple?
Usually within a set radius only. James Erick Photography Utah charges no travel inside 70 miles of American Fork, Photography by Tasha Rose may charge beyond 30 miles of Salt Lake City, and several Utah County photographers include travel inside Utah County but not beyond it.
