Franklin South
Southwest of the center — older, affordable and closer to the freeway than most of Provo
← All Provo neighborhoodsFranklin South sits below the Franklin neighborhood in the southwest quadrant of central Provo, an older working residential area that has long been one of the more affordable places to rent or buy inside the city. It is also one of the most convenient for anyone whose day involves I-15: the freeway is genuinely close, which is not true of most of Provo's older neighborhoods.
Where it is
Southwest of central Provo, below the Franklin neighborhood and generally west of University Avenue. The city's neighborhood map settles the exact lines.
The housing
Older single-family homes, duplexes and small apartment buildings, with newer infill appearing along the larger streets. Renters and owners in roughly equal measure.
Schools
Provo City School District. Franklin Elementary at 350 South 600 West and Shoreline Middle at 1201 West 890 South are the nearby schools, with Provo High serving much of this side of the city.
