Sleepy Ridge, Orem: The Golf-Course Venue Above Utah Lake, Its New One-Wedding-a-Day Format and What the Rental Covers

Sleepy Ridge in Orem: the Sunset Room (250 dinner, 700 flowing), the Garden Patio, the one-wedding-a-day change, what the rental includes and the Orem temple.

Sleepy Ridge is a third-floor ballroom on a golf course in west Orem, with a balcony over the 18th fairway and Utah Lake beyond. It is about 5 minutes from the Orem Utah Temple. Two things changed in 2026: it now hosts one wedding at a time, and its indoor Garden Room is no longer a wedding space. Guides written before that may describe a different venue.

All details are from Sleepy Ridge's own website as checked in October 2026.

The basics

The spaces

The Sunset Room (third floor): 4,160 square feet, listed for formal dinners up to 250 and flowing receptions up to 700. Hardwood floors, a stone fireplace, French doors to a balcony overlooking the 18th fairway, Utah Lake and the Oquirrh Mountains.

The Garden Patio (outdoors): listed for ceremony seating of 150.

The Front Gardens and grounds: an ivy wall, a willow tree and the course itself, which the venue offers as photo locations.

What changed. The FAQ says "all weddings are celebrated in our Sunset Room," with the Garden Patio and Front Gardens available to add for "a full venue flow; ceremony on the Garden Patio, cocktail hour in the Front Gardens, and dinner and dancing in the Sunset Room." The indoor Garden Room "is no longer part of our wedding experience." Every wedding now has access to two getting-ready suites, and a new groom's room is planned. The venue says minor renovations will run from late 2026 to mid-2027 without disrupting weddings.

One wedding at a time

The venue's new format: "We host one wedding at a time, so the Sunset Room, the balcony and the grounds belong to you two from setup through the last song." Its FAQ says the change applies to new bookings and that existing couples were contacted personally. For a couple who has toured busy venues with two receptions passing in the hallway, this is the headline.

What the rental covers

The pricing page describes a flat venue rental by date that covers "the space, the tables & chairs, the setup and takedown, linens, and an onsite hostess." It also lists exclusive use of the venue, access to the patio or balcony, ample parking and, for weddings, bridal and groom suites. The venue offers discounted rates for weekday and off-season dates.

Not included: catering, flowers, photography and music, which you hire. The homepage puts it plainly: "Bring the caterer you already love, or the one your family has used for years. We don't charge extra either way."

Prices: the wedding rate sheet sits behind a "Wedding Pricing" link that was not part of the page text we read. The FAQ confirms pricing was updated for the new format. Ask for the current sheet.

On a temple day

After an Orem sealing, Sleepy Ridge is the closest large reception room, about 5 minutes away. Its pricing page lists luncheons among the events it books, so some couples hold both the luncheon and reception here. From other temples, by uncongested routing: about 15 minutes from Lindon, 17 from Mount Timpanogos, 29 from Saratoga Springs. See getting sealed at the Orem temple.

Ring ceremonies: a couple quoted on the homepage thanks staff for helping set up "the floor plan of our dinner and ring ceremony." Our ring ceremony explainer covers what the Church handbook allows.

Open houses: the 700 flowing-reception figure is the number that matters for a come-and-go open-house reception.

Touring

The FAQ lists tours Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 to 11 a.m., depending on events. Ask:

Our golf courses in Utah Valley guide covers the course side of the property.
