Utah Valley Spring Break 2027: Dates and Plans

In most years, Easter and spring break blur into one week of Utah Valley family plans. In 2027 they do not. Easter is March 28, general conference is the following weekend, and Utah County's schools take their spring break the week after that. This guide sets out the 2027 calendar, the neighbors' breaks that change how crowded things get, and a plan for the week, from free museums in Provo to the red-rock day trips.

The 2027 calendar

Sunday, March 28: Easter. For the weekend's egg hunts, services and dinners, see Easter Weekend in Utah Valley.
Saturday and Sunday, April 3 and 4: general conference.
Monday, April 5, to Friday, April 9: spring break for Provo City School District, from the district's own calendar, and for Nebo School District, from the Utah State Board of Education's list of district calendars.
Alpine School District: Alpine did not submit to the state list, and third-party calendars show its break as April 6 to 9, the same week. Confirm on the district's own calendar before you book.

The neighbors' breaks

Other districts' calendars decide how crowded your week will be. On the state's list:

Jordan and Granite, Salt Lake County's big districts, are off March 29 to April 2, the week after Easter, so Salt Lake attractions are likely to be busier that week than during Utah County's break.
Canyons, Davis and Wasatch share Utah County's week, April 5 to 9.
Washington County, St. George's district, is off March 8 to 12, so St. George's own families are back in school when Utah County heads south.

Thanksgiving Point and the farm

Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, about 26 minutes from Provo, fills a spring break day with its museums and gardens; see Thanksgiving Point. Its Tulip Festival has opened in the first or second week of April in recent years, 2026's on April 6, so in 2027 it may open during the break or just after; the dates are announced in the winter. Outdoors in early April

Early April in Utah Valley is spring at the valley floor and still winter up high. Provo Canyon's Bridal Veil Falls runs with snowmelt, the low foothill trails dry out first, and the high trails and canyon lakes can hold snow into May. Plan on the valley and the foothills, and check trail conditions before anything higher.

The red-rock day trips

Practical notes

Mind the gap. In 2027 Easter and spring break are a week apart.
Check Alpine's calendar. It is not on the state's list.
