Frequently Asked Questions

What Halloween events are in Utah Valley this weekend?
On Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, Provo's Villains and Heroes Halloween Carnival runs at the Provo Recreation Center in two sessions, 3 to 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. ($4 members, $8 nonmembers), Thanksgiving Point holds its Día de los Muertos celebration, University Place in Orem holds its Night of Fright market, and Heehaw Farms in Pleasant Grove has a pumpkin drop from noon to dusk. The haunts and corn mazes run all weekend except Sunday.
When is Halloween 2026?
Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026. It is also the day BYU hosts Arizona State at LaVell Edwards Stadium at 1:30 p.m. on FOX, the morning of the HAUNTED Provo half marathon down Provo Canyon, and the last night of daylight saving time before the clocks go back on Nov. 1.
What city Halloween events are on Friday, Oct. 30, 2026?
Lehi's Halloween Extravaganza at the Lehi Legacy Center from 5 to 8 p.m. ($5 presale tickets), Lindon's Halloween Spooktacular at Lindon City Center Park from 6:30 p.m., and a Halloween dance night with the Wasatch Show Band at the Northampton House in American Fork from 7 to 9 p.m. Several cities put their main event on the Friday because Halloween falls on a Saturday.
Are there free Halloween events in Utah Valley?
Yes. Pleasant Grove's downtown Halloween event on Oct. 29 is free, the Springville Museum of Art's Halloween party on Oct. 22 is free with donations welcome, the Haunted Halloween Haven walk-through in Spanish Fork is free every night of October, and the city Main Street trick-or-treats are free. Our trick-or-treat guide lists them by city.
What is there for little kids who do not want to be scared?
The Provo Recreation Center carnival, the SCERA Center's Tricks and Treats magic show on Oct. 29 ($7), the Springville Museum of Art party on Oct. 22, the CLAS Ropes Halloween Cruise on the Provo River and the Christa McAuliffe Space Center's Beams and Screams laser show are all built for families. Trunk-or-treats at churches and schools cover most of the small-child trick-or-treating.
What haunted houses are open the last week of October?
The Haunted Forest in American Fork runs Monday through Saturday through Oct. 31, plus Nov. 6 and 7. Frightbelly's at Cornbelly's Lehi runs select nights through Oct. 30. The Field of Fright at Glen Ray's in Spanish Fork runs Friday and Saturday nights. All are closed Sundays.
What should I know about Halloween night traffic in Provo?
BYU's 1:30 p.m. kickoff against Arizona State should end around 5 p.m., so expect heavy traffic on Canyon Road, University Avenue and 900 East between about 5 and 6 p.m., just as trick-or-treating begins. Neighborhoods near the stadium will have both cars and children in that hour.
Where do these dates come from?
From the organizers' own pages where they publish them, and otherwise from the fall calendars of Explore Utah Valley (the county's tourism office), Provo City Library and The Salt Lake Tribune, all checked Oct. 20 and 21, 2026. Times change and events sell out, so check the organizer's site before you go.
